1. Heaven

Club heaven Budapest

Heaven is one of the newer night clubs in Budapest that officially opened in 2019. Due to Covid-19, the club had a not-so-great start, but Heaven has since recovered and is now one of the most popular party venues in the city.

With its 1,000 people capacity, this is one of the biggest night clubs in Budapest, and the well-separated VIP areas allow you to host great private parties here.

As if that wasn’t enough, Heaven is designed with a fashionable and luxurious atmosphere and a world-class sound system, which attracts not only music fans but also a wide array of DJs playing hip hop, RnB, and radio top hits.

  • Opening hours: Friday – Saturday between 23:00 and 06:00 and it’s best to show up around midnight to beat the line.
  • Address: Deák Ferenc utca 5, just next to Vörösmarty square.

2. Romkert

Located only a stone’s throw away from the legendary Gellért Thermal Bath, Romkert is one of the most well-located and exciting night clubs in Buda.

This is an open-air venue meaning it’s only open when the weather allows for it, during roughly 4-5 months a year. Because of this, this club is only an option for you that visit Budapest during the hotter months of the year.

If you’re into VIP partying, Romkert has excellent options on the second floor where you can book your own VIP box with a private toilet and fantastic hostess.

When partying at Romkert, you can always expect exciting music from top DJs, and thanks to the strict age policies you will not have to share the dance floor with any teenagers.

  • Opening hours: Summer club open 4-5 months a year. Usually open from lunch to late, Thursday-Saturday.
  • Address: Döbrentei tér 9, just next to the Gellért Thermal Bath

3. Dojo Budapest

Dojo Budapest

Just down the street from historical St. Stephen’s Basilica (Szent István-bazilika), you will find one of the newest Budapest night clubs, namely Dojo.

As the name entails, this unique venue has a Japanese theme and a very exclusive environment which makes the whole club feel like a VIP area. To keep the atmosphere mature and avoid “kids parties”, you have to be at least 25 years old to enter Dojo.

Regarding music, you can expect to dance to some of the best house music right now, performed by both local and international DJs.

  • Opening hours: Every Thursday through Saturday from 22.00 to 05.00
  • Address: 1051 Budapest, Zrínyi u. 4/A

4. bob

Bob Budapest

BOB – Bacardi Original Bar – is somewhat of a legendary venue in Budapest with the arguably best bottle service in the city. It’s a great location for all of you that like to party in the middle of the week since Bob is one of few Budapest night clubs to be open from Wednesday to Saturday.

As the name suggests, Bob is originally a bar but it has a dance floor and has evolved to becoming more of a night club. And as mentioned, the bar has an almost legendary reputation that attracts locals and foreigners alike.

Thanks to the incredible bottle service offered, this is a great place to splurge and have a wild night out with never ending drinks.

  • Opening hours: Wednesday – Saturday 20:00-05:00
  • Address: Széchenyi Tér 7-8

5. Badhanna

Badhanna is also a new night club in Budapest and similar to Dojo (mentioned above) this club is designed with oriental inspiration, and feels like an underground place in Hong Kong or even Vietnam. Unlike Dojo this club is more casual and relaxed, which we very much appreciate.

This is a night club you visit to dance to rumbling electronic music and modern house and progressive house. However, if you come during the week or earlier in the evening, this night club is also a progressive Asian restaurant serving world-class food for a good price.

Regardless of whether you want to eat a nice dinner in good company or dance to the early hours, Badhanna is well worth a visit when you’re in Budapest.

  • Opening hours: Mon-Wed: 17.00 – 00.00 | Thur – Sat: 12.00 – 00.00
  • Address: Hercegprímás u. 18

6. Cinema hall

Cinema Hall Budapest

This night club is a large venue that hosts themed party nights and books international DJs from all over the world, making it one of the best places for Budapest disco. It is not open on a weekly basis but rather works like a live venue that only opens when there are famous  DJs booked. The venue itself is incredible and is often decorated according to the night’s theme.

Over the years, Cinema Hall has attracted world-famous DJs such as Marco Carola, Amelie Lens, Mind Against, and we expect it to remain one of the main night clubs in the city for many years to come.

Unfortunately, the only downside of Cinema Hall is its location. Unlike most clubs in this list, it is not located in the city center but rather a few kilometers away. Hence, this club is easiest to reach by taxi.

  • Opening hours: usually on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Address: Népligeti út 2

7. Ötkert

Ötkert Budapest

Ötkert is a fun disco for every music and party taste and attracts big crowds of both teenagers and adults. It’s one of the biggest club in Budapest with two dance floors on which they play mainly the top mainstream hits. If you’re into latin music on Thursdays they hold an all night reggaeton music party.

Even though it’s an old venue, this is still one of the more fun night clubs in Budapest and well worth a visit. Just keep in mind that the place get packed, especially on the weekends. To avoid the crowds, a VIP table is recommended.

  • Opening hours: Wednesday – Saturday 23.00 – 05.00
  • Address: Zrínyi u. 4/A

8. Aether Budapest

Aether Budapest

Underneath Gozsdu Courtyard where several of the city’s best bars are located, you will find Aether – a dark and exciting techno club. This place offers everything you’d expect from an underground night club ranging from great music, LED lights all over the walls and ceiling, and an overall great European club atmosphere.

To get the full experience, we suggest that you start the night at one of the bars in Goszdu and around midnight you and your friends slip down into the darkness and hypnotic techno rhythms that characterizes Aether. Just remember that there is “no track of time” in this club and don’t expect to leave until the sun has risen.

  • Opening hours: Friday & Saturday 23.00 – 06.00
  • Address: Gozsdu Court, Király u. 13

9. Yellow

Yellow Budapest

Right next to Bob there is another bar called Yellow, and similar to Bob this bar turns into a night club as it gets later.

Visiting Yellow is a bit of a hit-or-miss and we suggest that you go here when there is an event planned, such as their Fetish Party Nights. Otherwise, you run the risk of coming here on one of the slower nights when the atmosphere leaves more to wish for.

We also recommend reserving a table to enjoy the Yellow BBQ and some of the world-class cocktails served here during restaurant hours.

  • Opening hours: Friday – Saturday 22.00 – 05.00
  • Address: Széchenyi István tér 8

10. Lock

Lock Budapest

If you, like so many other visitors in Budapest, fancy a more luxurious and exclusive night club, then Lock is a great option for you. According to themselves, this is “the only VIP club in Budapest” and the perfect place for private events since you can rent VIP areas and even your own private rooms with poker tables.

The only downside to this place is that it’s not following the international trends, therefore mainly appealing for older, sometimes more sketchy local audiences. Hence another reason to book a private room and bring your own company with you.

With that said, drinks and design are really good and you will most likely enjoy yourself a great deal here.

  • Opening hours: Friday – Saturday 22-05
  • Address: Tölgyfa u. 1-3

Instant Budapest

Instant is more than just a night club, it is a complete Party Complex in the heart of Budapest with 7 different clubs under the same roof. The venue is open 7 days a week and attracts party-goers from all ages.

In terms of design this is a ruin bar, so don’t expect anything luxurious. This is a great option for people who are on a tight budget and don’t want to spend a lot of money, but still want a wild night out in the city.

The complex has 4 dance floors, so you will certainly find one to match your taste. Since the venue is located in a busy tourist area, you won’t meet many local people here.

12. Szimpla kert

Szimpla kert Budapest

Szimpla Kert is, without a doubt, the most well-known ruin bars in Budapest. It’s located in the middle of the old Jewish districts and attracts backpackers and tourists from all over Europe.

Visiting this night club is a full experience and more than just a regular club night. Here, you can explore the different floors, get lost in the maze of corridors, enjoy great cocktails, and dance with like-minded people until the early hours.

Since this is one of the legendary “ruin clubs” in the city, it attracts mostly tourists looking for a trashy party experience, therefore, it is not a hot-spot for the locals. There are also no decent VIP services or areas inside the venue.

  • Opening hours: Mon – Fri: 15.00 – 04.00 | Sat – Sun: 12.00 – 04.00
  • Address: Kazinczy u. 14

Best spot for Budapest disco

The best place for Budapest disco depends on your personal preferences, and things like if you want a VIP area, a luxurious experience or want to dance the night away in one of the trashy ruin bars.

However, in our opinion, the best Budapest parties happen at Heaven these days. That is why we ranked them as the number 1 Budapest night club.

Budapest nightlife in weekdays

Similar to in many European capitals, the party never ends in Budapest. Here, you can party 7 days a week and more or less around the clock, as long as you know where to go.

With that being said, most major night clubs are open Thursday to Saturday, and during the weekdays the nightlife is a little more limiting, although far from non-existent.
